COVID-19 Update from CCHS:
During these difficult times, we take reassurance that we are all in this together! Pursuant to Governor Evers’ order, our Shelter is now closed to visitors. Our CC Resale store is closed. Any adoptions that occur will be according to strict limitations and by appointment only. We do not know how long the “Safer at Home” mandate will be in effect. We do know that we’ll get through this with the help of all our members, supporters and friends.
While we are not open to the public, our animals still require care each day. Our top priority at CCHS continues to be the health and well-being of our staff and volunteers. We currently have 91 animals for whose care we are responsible, whether it be here at the Shelter or in foster care. That is why we are so focused on our staff and volunteers. Should they become ill or require quarantine, our dogs and cats still need to be cared for.
We are grateful to everyone for their help and understanding. But we are somewhat concerned. We’ve never had a time quite like this. The animals still need your support! While the COVID-19 pandemic continues, our donations have decreased dramatically. Unfortunately, the expenses of caring for the animals remain the same. That makes for a challenging financial picture. We know our community will pull together to keep it all going!
Donations are just so important right now. You can make a monetary donation of any amount online through our website at: cchs-petshelter.org/donate-to-cchs. Donations of food and supplies may be left outside our main entrance door where staff will keep an eye out and bring them quickly inside. Our Wish List is at: cchs-petshelter.org/wish-list. If ordering through Amazon, remember to use Smile.Amazon.com and indicate CCHS as your charity of choice. Our Amazon Wish List can be found at: bit.ly/CCHSWishList. Every penny is truly going to help make a difference for the animals.
If you have any urgent questions or needs, please email us at , as our phones may not be answered. This is an extremely challenging time for us, as we focus on providing the best care possible for our cats and dogs.
We hope that you and your family are safe during this time. Thank you for your support, and please stay well!!
done in FixaPet!
We are celebrating 19,000 surgeries done in our FixaPet Program! Since FixaPet started, we have helped make a difference for more than 19,000 cats and dogs. We are so very proud of our staff and our vets, Dr. Gary and Dr. Jen, for the wonderful work they do. In honor of this milestone, Meena, shown here with her mom Jessica, received her surgery free! They were just delighted to be #19,000! If you have a cat or dog that needs to be spayed or neutered, give us a call! We'll be happy to help your pet too!! Appointment Line: 715-743-4550.

2019 Dog & Cat Statistics
We are very proud of our 2019 Statistics. As a true No-Kill Shelter, we believe that transparency is critical to our mission, and will always disclose factual numbers for adoptions/RTO's/transfers/deaths/euthanasias at the Shelter. (Redemptions or RTO's are strays that came to the Shelter and are returned to their owners.) We are thrilled that our Live Release Rate is 99.5% for dogs in 2019 and 97.2% for cats.
