James and Dianne were in the area visiting at The Highground. They mentioned to staff there thay they had recently
lost their Black Lab 'Duke'. They were told they just had to come visit our Shelter, where they were lucky enough to
find "Pearl". Pearl had just come in as a stray that day, but they came back a week later to pick her up. Now
called "Lucy", she was exactly the match they were looking for!
Jean and Ronald had lost their Shepherd Ali a month ago, and knew it was time to find a new friend. They liked
Shepherd mixes as are wonderful companions, have great personalities, and are easily trained. They really wanted to
adopt a dog from a Shelter, and little "Sadey" was just what they had in mind. We know the little cutie has brought
lots of love and fun to their home.
Serena and Brian had recently lost their Boxer Rex, and were looking for a new family companion. They love Boxers
and knew that Santeen's happy personality would be a good match for their family. Santeen joins two 'siblings', Alex
and Sean. They were planning lots of walks in the park for Santeen and her new loving family.
"Minnie" was such a little cutie that everybody wanted to adopt her. But Matthew and Tracy and their children Samuel,
Henry and Audrey were the lucky family chosen to take her home. We've heard back that Minnie is a very well-behaved
girl and has filled their hearts with love!
Sherri had recently lost two of her cats to old age, and had decided she was finally ready to add a new member to her
family. She came to the Shelter with her daughter Marissa (center) and Megan (left) and met all of our kitties, but
it was little "Amir" that seemed to call out 'Adopt Me!' from his cage. Sherri just couldn't resist that, and knew he
was the kitten meant to go home with her.
Ann Marie had recently lost her beloved cat 'Oscar' to cancer, so her friend Gus wanted to do something special and get
her a new kitty friend. They came to visit CCHS and fell in love with little "Ramona" of our Happy Feet Kittens.
Ann Marie had previously adopted her dog 'Foxy' from our Shelter (who also came back to visit!), so we knew that Ramona would
have a great home filled with lots of love!
Karen was looking for a new cat to be a companion to her cat 'Cubby'. Having recently lost his friend Tabbi, he
was lonely and depressed. Karen found "Daisy" online and couldn't wait to meet her. She came to the Shelter with
her nephew, Adam, and fell in love with Daisy's sweet and gentle nature right away. We're sure that Daisy has also helped
Cubby feel better!
JoAnn and Bernd were spending time at their vacation home and visiting friends in the area when they stopped in at CCHS.
They had recently lost their dog 'Sunny', and wanted to see the dogs we had available for adoption. "Croc" caught their
attention, as he was quiet, attentive, and just the right size. Not to mention, he was also really cute! We've
heard back that he is doing great in his new home. He has met his three cat 'siblings' and everyone is getting along
well!
Steve and Beth had been looking online for just the right dog to add to their family. They found "Mia" on
our website, and came all the way from Waukesha to meet her. They could see she was a very special girl, and were
delighted to take her home. She joins three 'siblings', Tom, Sam, and Lauren. We've had reports that Mia is doing
wonderfully in her new home.
Joyce was looking for a new friend after losing her Black Lab last January. She was looking for an older dog who
could be a companion to her 14-year old Yellow Lab 'Amigo'. She found "Baron" on line, and was soon on her way to meet
him. Now called 'Darby', we have reports that he is fitting in well with his new family and that he loves people and
other dogs, too. Joyce says that he is a good walking buddy and a great old dog!
Jodi found "Charley" when she was looking at dogs on our website. It took her a few days to get permission from
her landlord, but soon she knew that Charley was going to be hers. She had plans to be gone over Memorial Day weekend,
but surprised us all when she stopped in to get Charley instead. We've already heard back the Charley is doing great.
He's a well-mannered boy, except that he likes to steal socks!!
Ashley and James came to the Shelter in search of a new companion, and fell in love with little "Violet". She had
just the personality they were looking for, plus they couldn't resist her cute face! Violet was very happy to find a
great new home where she'll be the center of attention.
Donna and her daughter Brionna met "Trillium" when they came to CCHS as part of a tour group. They knew that the
little cutie was something special, in spite of the terrible shape her coat was in. Luckily we were able to have her
professionally groomed by a very nice member of our Humane Society, so she was looking her best for her new home.
Now called "Ginger", she is getting along great with her new friend 'Maya', and has even gone to visit at Brionna's school!
Judy and Terry came to the Shelter to meet some of our dogs, and ended up falling in love with "Flicka". She was
just the size and breed they were looking for, plus she was a little sweetie! Now called 'Katie', she is doing a very
good job keeping the squirrels out of her new yard, learning new commands, and going for lots of walks. Sounds like
she found a perfect new home!
Tom and Nadine just knew that "Kiku" had that special something. They had previous experience with Huskies, and
very much liked the breed. They could see that Kiku was also very loving and knew she'd be a good match with their daughter
Samantha. We've already seen pictures of Kiku in her new home, and she looks very comfortable sleeping on the couch!
Daidri had seen little "Mumble" at our Adoption Fair, and just knew the little sweetie had to come home with her.
Mumble had a birth defect where he was missing some of his toes on one of his front feet. But Daidri said that just
made her love him all the more! We're so happy that such a special kitten found a special home!
Stacy and her children Shawna, Nate and Riley had wanted to get a cat for a while, and "Peanut Brittle" was the lucky
kitty they chose. They wanted an adult cat with an established personality that would adjust to their family.
They felt that Peanut Brittle was just the sweetest kitty we had at the Adoption Fair, and were thrilled to take their new
friend home that day!
"Garth" had been at our Shelter for six months waiting for his new family to find him. He finally got lucky when
Douglas saw him online and knew he was the dog he had been looking for. Now called "Lucky", he will be going on walks
to the river nearby and also spending weekends on his family's horse farm. We're so happy that he finally got the great
home he was waiting for!
Steve and Shelly and their children Crystal, Kyle and Cassidy were looking for a Border Collie to add to their family.
They knew they wanted to get a homeless dog from a Shelter, and saw our "Dutchess" on our website. She was exactly what
they were looking for. Dutchess will now be going on daily walks with her family, as well as joining in ball games and
playing in the yard.
Jennifer and Michael came to CCHS to meet one of our dogs, and ended up falling in love with "Griffin". They felt
that his temperament and activity level would be a good match for their family, plus who could resist his cute face!
They were very pleased to adopt their new friend from a No-Kill Shelter. We were very pleased that Griffin found the
great new home he deserves!
Everybody said "KayC" was just the cutest puppy they'd ever seen. Crystal (from left), Deb and Max certainly
aren't going to argue with that! They already had two miniature Schnauzers, Elfradoe and Ellie, and wanted another small
dog as a playmate for Ellie. KayC was just the right size and age, and was soon on his way home to join his new family!
Kayla had recently started volunteering at CCHS, and her heart couldn't resist "Neeko". Neeko had been at the Shelter
for a very long time waiting to find a new home. His turn finally came when Kayla's Dad, Larry, came to CCHS to
meet Neeko and agreed he was the perfect dog for their family. We couldn't be happier that Neeko finally got the happy
ending he so deserved!
Steve and Beth were looking for just the right dog to join their family and four children, Dylan, Isaac, Emma and Alex.
They liked "Briquette's" breed and size, and the fact that he was gentle with children sealed the deal! We've heard
back from the family that Briquette is doing wonderfully and gets along great with everybody!
"Chablis" was a gorgeous Chow Chow that everybody wanted to adopt! Nick and Jenelle were the lucky family chosen
to take her home. Now called 'Ruby', she is enjoying walks every day with her new family.
We've already had pictures back showing how happy she is in her new home. That makes us very happy too!
Jim and Shirley and their dog Cody (on left) were in search of a new dog friend after losing Cody's sister Sanna
to cancer last summer. Cody was just far too lonely by himself. They all came to the Shelter to meet the dogs,
and "Tasha" was the perfect fit. She got along well with all of them, and she's now learning everything she needs to
know from Cody!
Leah and her daughters Heaven and Riley were looking for a family pet and found a very special dog in "Sable".
Sable had suffered a broken leg as a puppy and it had not been cared for when it happened. As a result she will always
limp, but that didn't stop her new family from quickly falling in love with her!
Sean and Beth felt the time was right to find a companion for their Golden Retriever 'Sadee', as well as their children
Brandon and Ashton. Their vet suggested they look into rescuing a dog, and they found our 'Star Trek' puppies online.
They were delighted to be selected to adopt "Uhura", who has now been renamed 'Roxy'. Sadee came along to
make sure it was a good choice, and she was happy to approve the adoption!
"Deanna" was part of our 'Star Trek' litter of puppies, and she was the one everyone wanted! After sifting through
a lot of applications, Tammy and Cory and their children Allison and Kevin were the lucky ones selected to adopt her.
They thought she was just adorable, and especially liked that she had been raised with a foster care family around children.
Tammy works from home, so she will be able to spend lots of time with her new puppy!
Jeanette and Peter are long-time Trekkie fans, so a litter of 'Star Trek' puppies seemed very special when they saw them
on PetFinder! They wanted to enrich their family by including a dog, and knew their children, Blair, Andrew and Elise,
could learn a lot about responsibility and unconditional love by having a dog. Little "B'lanna" is looking forward to
lots of walks with her new family, not to mention lots of playtime, too!
We were all excited when Jody and Christopher and their son Gregory applied to adopt two of our 'Star Trek' puppies.
Having been raised with a foster family, the puppies had a great temperament and were just what they were looking for.
The foster family was especially happy that the two puppies got to stay together. "Spock" and "Janeway" (now called
'Zanie') join two cats, Macker and Lester. We've heard back that they are doing great in their new home!
"Kirk" was one of our cute little 'Star Trek' puppies. He was very lucky to find a new home with Justin and Jessica.
They were looking for a companion as well as a playmate for their current dog 'Spencer'. Spencer came along to meet
the new addition, and he decided it would be OK to take the little guy home. Kirk is now enjoying his great new life
with lots of love and treats, and is getting to know his new kitty friend, Sophie.

Karol and Tom had seen a lot of our cats at our Adoption Fair, but came to the Shelter to meet and spend time with all
of them. It was a hard decision with so many great cats to choose from. They really liked "Jazz", as he was
friendly and loved to cuddle, and they decided he was just the kitty they wanted to take home!
Rachel and Bert were looking for a new friend to play fetch with and go on walks together. They met "Schroeder"
at the Shelter, and thought he was very good-natured and enthusiastic. Schroeder thought they were pretty nice too,
and was soon on his way home with his new family.
Tami was looking for a new friend who would be a good companion and still young enough to train. She found "Tipper" on
our website, and knew she was what she was looking for. She's planning on walking, running, and biking with Tipper in
the future, and we know Tipper will enjoy every minute of it!
Cathy and her children came to CCHS in search of a kitten to add to their family. Cute little "Nassir" was just
what they were looking for, as he was playful yet full of love. We just know that he's filling their home with lots
of fun and playtime!
Dawn saw our kitty "Poppins" at our Adoption Fair, but unfortunately was in a rush to get to a wedding where she was
a photographer. She still knew that Poppins was the kitty she wanted to add to her family, so she sent her son John
to pick her up at the Shelter. John was very gracious and agreed to have his picture taken with their new kitty!
Josh liked "Docker" as soon as he met her, as she seemed very friendly and playful. It was finally time for Josh
to have his own pet as he was living on his own, and Docker was just the companion he was looking for. Docker is now
enjoying lots of playtime with all of her new toys!
Melissa came to CCHS with her daughters Madyson (on left) and Hope. They were searching for a new doggie friend
to add to their family. They met "Linus", and quickly agreed his mellow personality was exactly what they were looking
for. Linus thought that a loving family was exactly what he was looking for, too!
Sue and Don spent a lot of time helping out with the Brat Fry at our Adoption Fair. Before the day was over, they'd
also fallen in love with "Cricket" and "Blondie". We're so happy the two brothers were able to find a home where they
could stay together. They also join two other 'siblings', Brianna and Hunter.
Kayla had been wanting a kitty friend for a while, and fell in love with "Miss Viola" when she met her at our Adoption
Fair. Now called "Cuddles", we know that her new friend is getting lots of love and playtime!
Tom and Sharlene and their daughters Kaylee and Emily knew the time was right to add a pet to their family. They
met "Jabari" at our Adoption Fair, and decided he was just the right kitten to adopt. They liked his sweet personality,
yet knew he would be a great playmate for their children.
Jesse missed having a dog around the house, and so did his children. He thought Cassie was really cute, plus he
liked her temperament around children. Cassie was very happy to find a new family to love just like she'd always wanted!
Robert and April found "Bluebelle" online, and couldn't wait to come to the Shelter to meet her. She was everything
they had hoped for. Plus, being a German Shepherd, she seemed to fit with their German heritage! Bluebelle was
soon on her way home, sporting a brand new blue collar and leash! She joins three 'siblings', Arielle, Ricky and Liam.
"Sally" was a very sweet little Black Lab puppy who came to the Shelter with a nose full of porcupine quills. After being
cared for, she was happy to find a new home with Dan & Jan. Jan couldn't come to the Shelter that day, but she instructed
Dan to pick out the dog who he thought was the best match. He found a great new friend and companion in Sally!
Yvonne and Daryl were looking to get their son Noah his very first dog. They came to the Shelter and spent time
meeting a lot of our dogs. But it was "Hawkins" that had the personality they were looking for. They knew that
Hawkins' friendly and playful personality would be a good match for Noah, and would also be enjoyed by his sister Kellianne.
Jennifer and Jerel came to CCHS looking for a companion for their cat "Smokey" they had adopted from us previously.
Who better to adopt than Smokey's brother "Bob"! Both kitties have a beautiful 'black smoke' coat that is so unique.
We're sure the brothers are very happy to be reunited!
Skye and Ryan saw something pretty special in "Balto" when they met him. They could see that he was a playful,
active guy under his mellow personality. Ryan took him out for a run, and knew he was just the dog they were looking
for. Balto thought his new family was just what he was looking for, too!
Marilyn and Dick were looking for a companion for their Cairn Terrier, 'Harry', who was very lonely when left alone.
They checked out all of our pets, and fell in love with "Blossom". She was beautiful and friendly, plus Harry thought
she was OK. The two got along well, and Blossom was happy to go home with her new family.
Beverly had been thinking about getting a cat for quite a while, but she surprised even herself when she decided to get
two kittens! She came to the Shelter with her daughter Lori and spent a lot of time meeting all of our kitties.
But there was just something about little "Chic" and "Wrangler" that caught at her heart and she knew she would just have
to take them home!
Brianna and Frank wanted to add a kitten to their family, and their children Lucas, Sam and Wyatt, certainly thought
it was a good idea. They found little "Levi" on our website, and just knew that was the perfect kitten for them!
Alyssa came to our Adoption Fair in search of a special new friend, and was happy to find "Claire". She especially
liked her loving disposition and her beautiful eyes. Claire was very happy to find the new loving home she had been
waiting for!
Sarah came to our Adoption Fair with her daughters Harleigh and Shelbi to see the kitties that were available for adoption.
They had one kitty, Max, who was very lonely, and they were looking for a companion. They fell in love with our
"Bridget", and knew her gentle, laid-back personality would be a great fit for their family.
Louis had recently lost his cat, so he came to our Adoption Fair in search of a new friend. He found "Sooty", who
reminded him of his previous cat. Now called 'Tommy III', he will be spending lots of quality time with his new companion.
Aaron really missed having a dog since moving away from home. He was looking for a dog's companionship, and
he knew that Sancho was a really good dog. Aaron plans to take Sancho on lots of walks and hikes, and is hoping to play
some frisbee with him, too!
Phyllis has always loved Labs, and was looking for a dog who was a bit older. Lucky for "Mitchell", he met both
requirements! Being gentle and well-trained, Mitchell was a great match for Phyllis, who is retired and has time to
spend with her new friend!
"Lucky" came to the Shelter when his previous family didn't have enough time to spend with him. Lucky for him,
his new family stopped by and fell in love with him! Ashley & Bradley liked his size and friendly temperament, and
knew he was just the right dog to join their home!
Eileen's daughter had originally adopted "Dodger", but sadly had to bring him back to the Shelter when he didn't get
along with her other dog. But Eileen didn't see any reason why she couldn't keep Dodger in the family. She didn't
have any other dogs, and had time to dote on new friend. We're so glad that Dodger got to keep his loving family after
all!
Aaron was looking to have a dog of his own, and fell in love with the picture of "Sphinx" on our website. His parents,
Gary and Cheryl, agreed that Sphinx was just the right size and breed to join the family. Aaron will be training his
new dog through the 4-H program, and we know that Sphinx will be a star student!
Joe & Pyxie were looking for a new puppy who would be a family friend as well as a companion for their other dog,
'Ranger'. "Odo" was just waiting to find a new home, as all of his brothers and sisters had already been adopted.
But he knew it would be worth the wait to get a great new home. Now called 'Flash', he's learning everything he needs
to know from Ranger so that he can grow up to be a good dog!
Nicolette came to CCHS expecting to get a dog, but fell in love with "Toby" instead. She couldn't resist his talkative
and cuddly personality, and just knew he was the perfect match for what she was looking for!
Len stopped at CCHS in search of a new canine companion for himself and his mother. Having lost his previous dog
in January, he knew the time was finally right to have a dog again. He found "Houdini" to be just the dog he was looking
for, as he was a mature dog who really liked people and would be a great companion!
Sarah and her daughter Alyssa knew the time was right to add a puppy to their home. They fell in love with little
"Scrabble" when they saw him online, and knew he was just the right size and age. Plus, he was really cute!! Scrabble
is now happy to be in his new home, where he can be the center of attention!
Being Star Trek fans, we had waited a long time for a little of nine puppies so that we could name one "7 of 9"!
That litter finally arrived, and we couldn't resist! Bill and Lisa wanted to add a dog to their family for themselves
and their children, Brennan and Alec, to love. Little 7 of 9 is now enjoying lots of love with her new family, and even
gets to sleep on the children's beds at night!
Rayne and Fred had been looking for a puppy for a while, and knew one of our 'Star Trek' puppies would be a great
match. "Picard" was soon on his way home with his new family, where he'll be getting lots of attention and going on
long walks, too.
Laurie and Gordon and their children Courtney and Timothy just knew that "Tempo" was the right dog for their family.
They had recently lost their family dog Saber, and knew they needed a new friend to fill that empty spot. Tempo was
very excited about his new home. He had heard that he would be living on a farm and would get to help with the cows.
We've heard back from his new family that his tail hasn't stopped wagging since he got home!
