Rod and Kathleen loved having two dogs around, but unfortunately recently lost 'Molly' to cancer. In search
of a new companion and friend, they found "Carlton". They brought their other dog, Missy, to meet Carlton and she thought
he would be an acceptable addition to the family. Now called "Rufus", he will be joining in their outdoor activities and going
along with Kathleen when she goes running. He's also looking forward to lots of tummy rubs!
Lindsay stopped by our Adoption Fair, and was so excited to find "Briar". She was looking for a cat for her Mom's
birthday, and knew Briar was just the one. Briar came to the Shelter with a terribly matted coat and had to be shaved,
but Lindsay was able to see the great potential he has. After calling her Mom to confirm her surprise, Briar was happy
to be on his way home for the big birthday celebration!
"Rose" came to the Shelter when her family was moving and she could not go along. She was such a sweet girl that
she was only at the Shelter two days before she found a new home with Karman. Karman works with the elderly, and is
looking forward to sharing her new friend with the elderly residents she stays with.
Dawn's husband had always wanted a white kitty with blue eyes. Dawn stopped by our Adoption Fair and, lo and behold,
there was Maddy! She couldn't resist that face, and knew it was meant to be. Maddy now has a new home and a new
Kitty friend.
Julie and Jeremy had talked about adding another kitty to their family. Their daughter Alyssa saw that CCHS was
going to be at the mall with our Adoption Fair, and gave her Mom a note asking if they could go shopping for
a new kitty at the Mall. They did, and they couldn't resist little Celine when they got there. Now called
"McKooKoo", they loved her personality and that she was short-haired. She joins another kitty, Sarah, and we're sure
she is causing all kinds of excitement in her new home!
Jim and Jenny had been looking for just the right pet for quite some time. They needed a very sweet, gentle, and
calm kitty who would be able to travel with them. Little "Boots" looked like the perfect kitty for them, and we've heard
back that she's doing great!
Joan met "Barbra" when she was volunteering at the Shelter, and thought she was just the cutest kitty. She was
very excited to see her at our Adoption Fair, and quickly contacted her family to come and meet Barbra. They agreed
she'd be a great playmate for their other kitten, Spots, and were delighted to add her to their family.
Ken was in search of a new companion, and knew that "Pepper" was just what he needed. He had visited the Shelter
to spend time with Pepper, and could see he had a great deal of potential with the right training. We're so glad that
Pepper got a chance at a great new home!
Tara visited our website to see our dogs, and knew "Genie" was the perfect dog for her the second she saw her.
She brought Eric along to the Shelter to meet her. They agreed Genie was perfect, and soon Genie was on her way home
with a new pink polka-dot collar and pink leash!
"Popcorn", one of our Puppy Mill rescues, was a special boy in need of a very special home. Because of his past,
Popcorn was going to need lots of love and patience to help him adjust to his new home. Now called "Jack", he found
a great new friend in Jill, who knew she could give him all the love he needed!
Tim saw "Ricky" when he was our Pet of the Week. He and his wife Nancy really liked the breed mix of Beagle and
Heeler. Tim came down to the Shelter to meet Ricky, with strict instructions from his wife that he should adopt both
if they were still available, as it just wouldn't be right to separate brothers. We certainly agreed, and we were delighted
the two got to go home together!
Heather and Robert were looking for a companion who would cuddle, lay around, and watch TV with them. They
found all of that and more in "Baby". We've heard that Baby adjusted to his new home the second he walked in the door.
A favorite among Shelter volunteers, we're all so very glad to know that Baby got a great home!
Eric was looking at our website in search of a new kitty. His family had lost their kitty two years ago and had
decided it was finally time to get another one. He liked the looks of "Brittany" and when he came to meet her, he knew
she was just the kitty he wanted to adopt!
Katie and Randy and their children Abbigail and Macci came to CCHS in search of a cat. Much to their surprise,
they ended up falling in love with "Holly". They found her to be a very lovable dog, and she was great with their two
children. Holly had been waiting a long time for the perfect family to come and adopt her, and she was very happy to
go home with them!
Linda and her children Katie and Corey saw "Josephine" online, and there was just something about her little face they
couldn't resist. They brought their current dog 'Chloe' to meet Josephine, and the two got along great. Rescued
from a puppy mill, Josephine was rather quiet and shy at the Shelter. But she perked right up when she met her new family
and looked so very happy and proud to be going home!
Sheila and her daughter Danielle came to CCHS as volunteers to help with walking and socializing our dogs. While
there they met "Spice" and fell in love. Randy and son David came along to meet Spice, and they all knew she was just
the right size for a house dog. Rescued from a puppy mill, Spice was looking for a home where she could feel secure
and loved. Seems like everybody got what they were looking for!
Gretchen had a deal with her parents that she could get a new kitty when she made the Honor Roll in school. Well,
she did exactly that, and was soon on her way to CCHS with her parents to fulfill that deal! Little "Icicle" was in
need of a new friend to love, and quickly bonded with Gretchen. We think it was a deal where everybody won!
Angela saw "Barry" when he was our Pet of the Week. She had wanted an orange, short-haired kitty for quite a while.
He was just what she was looking for, and he was soon on his way home to join his new playmate, Oreo. Knowing Barry's
playful personality, we wouldn't be a bit surprised if he's getting Oreo into all kinds of trouble!
Kyle and Leanne stopped at CCHS to meet all of our dogs, but something about "Bella" really stood out from the rest.
They thought she was really friendly and active, and also had a very positive feeling. Bella was more than happy to
go home with her new family. They promised they would take her for care rides, go to the beach, and spoil her with toys,
treats, and love. She couldn't ask for anything more!
Mark and Terri happened to be in the area visiting family, and stopped in with their granddaughter to visit the Shelter.
They had lost their dog 'Jake' last year, and Terri said she would know it when she met the right dog to add to their home.
As soon as she saw little "Toe", it was a done deal! A great little cuddler, Toe quickly bonded with his new family
who is now giving him all the love he needs!
Pam and Wesley were looking for a new 'baby' for their family, and stopped in to check out the dogs at the Shelter.
Pam took one look at little "Tac", and it was love at first sight! Now called 'Doby Gillis', our sweet little Min Pin
is now filling his new home with lots of love and fun!
Newly retired, Don was looking for a small dog to be his companion and came to visit little "Tic" at the Shelter several
times. He just knew that the little puppy was the one he needed to have, and soon he and his wife Betty were taking
little "Ticker" home where he's now surrounded by lots of love.
James and Mary had seen our 'Gemstone' kittens on our website, and had even written down their names before they stopped
to visit us at the mall. They were just delighted to see two of the kittens there available for adoption! It was
meant to be, and soon "Diamond" and "Onyx" were on their way home with a wonderful new family!
Jenny had never had a cat before, but her son Marshal fell in love with "Midnight" and knew that he just had to come
home with them. They liked that he was big and loveable, and was very friendly with everyone. Midnight is now
enjoying his new life as a lap cat and getting lots of cuddle and family time.
Justin had been looking for a kitten, and found little "Tigereye" on our website. He knew that the beautiful kitten
would be a great companion and was very happy to pick up 'Tiger' at our adoption fair. We're pretty sure that Tiger
is now running the household and having a great time!
Debra was looking for a new companion ater losing her last Husky to old age. "Anthony" was a very sweet little
guy looking for a great home after being rescued during the very cold winter weather. It was a great match when they
met and we're so happy they found each other!
Lori met "Rodeo" (in the middle) when she came to CCHS as a volunteer to walk dogs. She thought he was pretty special,
and soon decided he needed to join their family. Now called Oliver, he joins another rescued dog, 'Bones', as well as
new Dad Tom.
Denise and Jason had been looking for a female Husky puppy for quite some time, and were very excited when they found
"Isis". They knew she was exactly the new family companion they had been searching for. Isis had come to the Shelter
when her previous owner abandoned her, and was a very scared little girl. But with lots of love and attention,
she's now a great little girl with a great new family!
Mary and Luke has looked at all the cats on our website, and thought that "Charlie" was very handsome. They also
liked that he was young enough to grow up with their family. We've heard back that Charlie has been a great addition
to their home. He's getting along well with their children Brandon and Ashley, and he's also a ton of fun to play with!
"Lucy" had been with us at the Shelter for almost a year waiting to find her new family. Her patience was well
worth it when she met Rhonda and Deb. They had recently lost a cat to pneumonia, and knew that they had room in their
hearts for one more. They found exactly the right kitty in Lucy, and knew that they could give her a warm and loving
home. Lucy now has a great home with a very soft couch and lots of birds and squirrels to watch out the window in her
backyard. She joins two other beautiful cats, Spook and Tiger. We've already had pictures back and Lucy looks
extremely happy. That makes us very happy too!

Kenneth and Marilyn and their daughter Sandra came to CCHS in hopes of finding a friendly house dog. "Opus" stole
their hearts with his gentle personality and good behaviour. Now called "Robbie", he is enjoying the good life with
four new feline friends!
James and Kristy came to our Adoption Fair to see the kitties available for adoption. They liked Destiny's personality,
and that she was quiet yet loveable. She will join two 'sisters', Emily and Madeline. Destiny was the longest
cat resident at the Shelter, so we are especially happy that she found a new family to love!
Sharon was looking for a nice kitty who would be a good lap cat. She had recently lost her cat 'Princess' to cancer,
and missed the companionship and love. "Oreo" had come to the Shelter when his former owners had too many cats to care
for. A very sweet guy, he loved to cuddle and hug, and we know he and Sharon are enjoying lots of time together!
Dan and Kay were in the market for a new companion. They liked the size, age and temperament of "Sharona".
Sharona agreed and she is now looking forward to her daily walks and visits to a fenced dog park!
Melanie stopped at CCHS in search of a cat who would get along well with her son Hunter, as well as her three dogs.
"Irish" was a very outgoing, talkative cat, who had just the personality she was looking for.
Kari knew the time was right in her life to have a new canine companion. She fell in love with "Moose", a very
handsome Weimeraner. Having owned a Weimeraner previously, Kari was familiar with the breed and knew he'd be a great
companion to take for walks and playtime at the lake. Having come from an abusive situation where he was not being fed
or cared for, Moose was delighted to have a new home where he'll never have to worry about his future again!
"Furbie" was a very sweet little guy, and was lucky to find a great new home with Judith (left) and Jackie. Rescued
from a puppy mill, Furbie had very bad dental work and had to have all but two of his teeth pulled. But that just made
him all the more loveable and we're so happy he found a great new family to take care of him!
Lori and Roger were looking for a companion as well as a playmate for their other dog, Kyra. They had previously
had a Husky mix, and being outdoor people, knew the breed was a good match for their lifestyle. "Lilly", a very sweet
little Husky with a very happy face was the lucky dog they found to take home!
James had lost his Cocker, Sam, about a month ago, and found that being alone was no fun at all. He came to the
Shelter and found Julia, a very sweet little Black Lab mix. She was exactly the companion James was looking for, and
she was delighted to get a great new home where sh'e now the center of attention!
Veronica drove all the way from Illinois to adopt "Bubbles" and "Candi", but she said the long drive was worth it when
she met the two little cuties. The two will join three 'siblings', Jada, Daena, and Lance, and we know they've added
a ton of fun and love to their new home!
Jeff and Tanya missed having a dog in their family, and they also wanted a pet to be a friend to their daughter Samantha.
They liked "McKenzie's" personality, looks, and size, and were very happy when they were selected to take the little sweetie
home!
Ken and Ann stopped by the Shelter in search of a house dog. They found little "Oregano", and it was quickly obvious
it was a perfect match. Having had a Shiba Inu previously, they were very familiar with the breed and loved it.
Little Oregano had been rescued from a puppy mill and needed a home with lots of love and patience. Lucky for him,
he found the perfect family!
Derek stopped in at CCHS to check out our dogs. A trucker, he was looking for a trucking buddy to go along.
He liked "Roy's" calm and quiet demeanor, plus the fact that he was short-haired. Soon Roy was on his way in the big
truck. Derek called us a short-time later and said it looked like Roy was born to be a truckin' dog, as he was loving
every minute of it!
Hilarian saw in our "Pet of the Week" that we had lots and lots of dogs at CCHS, so he came to the Shelter to check
them out. He met little "Cinnamon" while he was there, and he thought the little sweetie was very pretty.
Having lost his Lab a few months ago, he knew it was time to have a new friend, and "Cinnamon" was the lucky dog he chose!
David and Shelly (and Justin, too!) came to CCHS looking for a dog that would be a good family pet. Their two older
sons, Kyle and Dylan, love to play ball, so they wanted a fun, playful dog who would join right in. They checked out
a lot of dogs at the Shelter, but "Paprika" was the one that stood out. Rescued from a puppy mill, Paprika is now enjoying
a much happier life filled with the love he never had before!
Nancy had recently moved to Neillsville to be closer to her family. She came to CCHS in search of a pet who would
be her comfort and companion. She spent a lot of time with the cats in Kitty City, and felt that "Triton" was the friend
she was looking for. Triton was also looking for a new friend, and was very happy to be going to his new home!
Becky met "Lola" when she was volunteering at CCHS, and always felt there was something special about the little kitty.
Lola had some health issues when she first came to CCHS, but once she was healthy and ready to be adopted, Becky and her daughters
Cami and Olivia knew it was time to take her home! Lola joins four other cats and two dogs.
Paul and Debbie and their children Jason and Andrea were looking for a new dog to be a companion to their family, as
well as a dog who would enjoy lots of outdoor activities. "Bronc" had been with us at the Shelter for a long time, so
he was especially excited when they decided he was the right dog to join their family!
"Pi" was our very handsome Bulldog that everyone wanted! He was lucky enough to find a great new home with Aura
and Gregg and their dog 'Kiwi'. Pi's happy, smiling face has even more reason to be smiling now!
"Anastasia" was a darling little Shepherd/Husky puppy who luckily came to the Shelter when she was found as a stray.
She had a nasty case of lice and required extensive treatment. Now all recovered, she was delighted to find a new home
with Gary, who was looking for a sweet puppy to be his new buddy. Looks like a great match to us!
Diane had been wanting to get a cat for a long time, and decided our Adoption Fair was exactly the right time!
She fell in love with "Chloe", a beautiful Calico with a big black smudge on her nose. She liked her gentle personality
and knew she would be a good lap sitter and companion. We know that Chloe is enjoying her new home where she is the
center of attention!
Debbie, Curt and Ryan stopped by our adoption fair while out shopping, and saw little "Tiger Lilly". They had recently
lost their cat 'Sassy' to cancer, and there was just something about Tiger Lilly's personality that caught at their hearts.
They gave it a lot of thought, but just knew that Tiger Lilly was meant to come home with them. We know that she has
helped to fill their home with love and little kitty pawprints!
Michelle and Robert wanted to get a pet for their family, but weren't allowed to have a dog at their apartment.
They decided a cat was the next best thing, and stopped at our adoption fair to visit. They found "Spooky", a handsome
black cat with a great personality. He got along well with everyone, including their son Blake, who was very excited
to be getting a kitty!
Rose and Donald came to the Shelter in search of small dog to be a companion and friend. They found little
"Maggie", a very sweet Beagle with a great personality. She was just what they were looking for, and we know they are
now enjoying each other's company every day.
Martha was looking for a new companion who would also be a lot of fun, and a dog seemed like the perfect addition to
her home. "Merc" was exactly what she wanted, as he was a sweet guy, smaller in size, and housebroken. We know
that he has brought lots of fun and companionship to his new home!
Mary's sister is a volunteer at CCHS, and knew that little "Kernel" (on the left) was a special boy as soon as she met
him. She told her sister all about him, and soon Mary was on her way to meet Kernel. Kernel joins a Bichon Frise
named 'Charger', who was very excited to get a new brother to play with!
"Scamp" knew that if he was just patient enough he'd find a great new family to love. Corey & Jennifer
were looking for a companion for their dog 'Molly', as well as a playmate for their children Brandon, Kyle, and Abigail.
They found just what they were looking for in Scamp, and Scamp found just the family he wanted!
Doug & Lynette had recently lost their cat 'Ginger' to cancer, and knew they needed to add a new friend to their
family. They originally came to the Shelter looking for two kittens, but fell in love with "Annie" (on the left) and
"Nibble". Annie was just the cuddler they were looking for, and Nibble had the playful personality they wanted.
They knew both kitties were just the companions they needed!
Sarah and Cody wanted to add another member to their family, and found little "Cherub" on our website. They had
recently lost their Beagle 'Bailey' to cancer, and their other dog 'Rascal' missed his old friend. When they read about
Cherub it just felt like she was the one 'meant to be', especially the part about needing lots of extra love! We know
that our little Cherub has found her new perfect family and is now surrounded by lots of love!
Mary Alice & Jim had recently lost their cat to old age, and needed to find a new friend. They found "Miranda"
and liked her looks and personality. Now called 'Sophie', we know that she is settling in with her new family, which
includes a Lab named Schylar and a Rat Terrier named Remi.
"Chief" came in to the Shelter as a stray, and spent four months with us waiting for a new family to love. Sadly,
he was always overlooked when people picked out the cute little dogs and puppies. Finally it was his lucky day when
Jeremiah came to find a new friend. He needed a companion for his current dog, a Greyhound named Buddy. He was
looking for a Black Lab as he loved their loving and playful personalities. We're so pleased that Chief was finally
able to find a home where he can be loved for the great guy that he is!
