"Elle" came to
us from another state with 'Tess' where they lived the dreaded life of a puppy mill dog. She captured the heart of her new
parents Peggy & Hal who missed having a dog on their lap after 14 years with their previous Terrier. After spending time
with their son's mini Schnauzer, they knew Elle would be a great fit!
"Zoey" was just a doll and exactly what Kathryn needed in her life after losing her
Shepherd to old age. Being retired, Zoey will rarely be alone, plus she has two kitty friends that were adopted from
CCHS a year ago! She is definitely going to bring a lot of joy to her new Mom!
After Connie lost her 14 year-old Terrier she was waiting for the just
right one to come into her life...and Tess (our puppy mill rescue) seemed to be the girl. Tess's photo melted her heart, and when the two met, they bonded to each other very quickly! Tess now has a super home
to pamper her & a great fenced yard too!
"Elton" and "Christmas" were not litter mates, but both
were Siamese kittens that came to CCHS around the same time. Their new parents have had Siamese for 30 years, and after losing
their last one at age 18, they were ready for a kitten...and hoped for two! We've already heard back the two boys are
doing super, and are re-named Shadow & Gandolf since Jim & Norma Jean are big Lord of the Rings fans!
"Patches" wasn't with us long before a family fell in love with her.
They had had dogs for many years....ones who even brought their food dishes in the kitchen on Sunday waiting for their
home cooked breakfast! After much consideration though, Kenneth and Barbara decided a cat would fit more into their
lifestyle now. Patches was very cute and will certainly keep them entertained with her playful personality, which
is what they loved!
"Joely" found a Collie loving home with new parents Joan and Lloyd
who were very eager to make her part of their family. She's an only child, like she preferred, so will definitely be
getting tons of attention. Her new mom plans to train her using techniques from the Dog Whisperer, so with her training,
calm personality, sweet disposition & loyalty, she's sure to be the envy of the area!
Rachel saw Zeeba & Zenobia on the website and knew they were the two
girls for her. Being a volleyball lover, they were named after athletes and are now called Misty Mae & Kem
Walsh. We know they're sure to be spoiled twins with tons of love from their new Mom...plus they're so happy they got to be
adopted together!
"Omelette" caught the eye of Laura who was ready for a puppy again
after losing her 13-year old dog. With a fenced yard to play in, and loving parents who enjoy the outdoors, she'll have it
made when they go to the cottage for swimming and fishing!
Little "Tater" is sure to be loved and have tons of playtime
with two children and a new kitty brother at home who's about his same age. With Tater's cute face, pretty
color, and overly friendly personality, we know why Ashley and Jon picked such a great boy. He's definitely
found his great new forever home!
John and Debra, along with their daughter Amanda, came to the Shelter looking for a new family pet. They found
the perfect new friend in "Hogan", who they thought was very cute and just the right size. Hogan is now spending lots
of time with his new family, getting all the love he ever wanted!
Little "Lucky", now 'Macie', has a super home with new mom, Holly, and new sister 'Madie',
a Cocker Spaniel. Holly's dogs are definitely her children and are spoiled in every way possible. She knew when
she saw Lucky online it was meant to be, since she grew up with a one eyed dog and Lucky has been like that since birth. Since
Holly is a groomer, Lucky will always be looking her best with bows in her hair and designer collars. We hear she'll
even get to go on bike rides in the child carrier Holly has for her doggies!
"Chantilly's" new family was planning to adopt a different dog, but upon thinking it over, felt a older, more mellow dog was
a better choice for their family. After losing their last Husky mix, Ronald and Debra were drawn to Chantilly, and
we know they will provide her with everything she could imagine! She'll get tons of love, lots of running time in her fenced
yard, plus even get to go camping...and maybe ride on the golf cart too!
"Ski-doo" (a Snowmobile Pup) couldn't be happier with new parents Trevor & Lauren who
spoil their dogs more than the average. He'll definitely be part of the family, getting to sleep with them at night,
playing in their big fenced yard, and going to the dog park with his two new doggie siblings!
"Friday" was the puppy everyone wanted, and he couldn't have
found a better home! He joins Mack, a yellow Lab adopted from CCHS, who will keep him entertained, as well as Orca, a cat,
also adopted from CCHS. Lois & her daughter are sure to give little Friday tons of cuddle time, while dad, Mike,
is sure to give him tons of exercise with Mack. We've heard back he's already a super spoiled little boy who has
definitely found his forever family!
Sean had seen "Barbossa" at our Adoption Fair at the Mall, and couldn't quite get him out of his mind.
Barbossa was a beautiful kitty, but had unfortunately lost his eye due to not being vaccinated when a kitten. But luckily
Sean was able to see him for the great cat he is, with an outstanding personality, and Barbossa now has a wonderful new home!
"Berry" was the last of the litter
simply because he was the boy. He was just a doll and could not be happier with super new parents, Chris and Erin.
They came to see another dog, but in the end fell in love with his sweet face and disposition. We know they made
the right decision with this great boy!
"Melanie's" new mom, Mildred, was brought to CCHS to pick out
a kitty for Christmas. She was very lonely and certainly wanted a cat, but didn't think she could afford all the care. With
a super family though, it was possible for her to have a new best friend to keep her company since they will pay for any care
she cannot. Mildred saw Melanie, and with a cute face and super sweet disposition, she knew it was the kitty for her!
We know they're both had a great holiday together with many more to come!

"Kibo" was a puppy mill rescue who was scared to death of everyone & everything. A super
volunteer & Akita lover, Renee came down
to CCHS each day to work with Kibo on socialization. Her worked paid off and new dad, Lee, had seen Kibo online & knew
it was the dog for him! He knew he needed a big, teddy bear friend, and could offer Kibo so much & help him become the
dog he was meant to be! Lee & his girlfriend Michelle had experience with a very scared dog Lee adopted years ago, and
were up the challenge of helping Kibo come out of his shell & gain confidence. It was a long trip back to MN that day,
but we hear they are doing well & Kibo has learned just how comfy human beds are!! With a nice fenced yard to run in &
excellent new home, Kibo is living the life of luxury now!

"Trivette" was found to be dog aggressive at the Shelter (and not good with men when she
arrived), however Al saw her online and knew she was the dog for him and his current yellow Lab, 'Tekee'. Much
to our surprise, the two dogs got along well and Trivette, now 'Breezy', is learning all kinds of things and
may even get to join Tekee in bird hunting! The dogs are certainly spoiled since Al tries to take them wherever he goes, plus
makes sure they lots of time to play fetch & swim!

"Maisy", our Miniature Pinscher (on the right) found a great new Mom
with Brelyn & a super little Minpin/Chihuahua buddy named Marley to keep her entertained. She's sure to be dressed
up like her brother, and have all she's ever dreamed of now. She's going to have lots of exercise and even more love
in her new home!
"Cordell" was a "big Beagle" mixed with a Lab, and seemed
to be just what Johahn & Crystal were looking for after losing their last Beagle. Cordell was passed over for months,
so we were so glad to find a family who loved the breed and would keep him as a spoiled indoor dog. We know he'll be very
happy & certainly will have lots of love and walks with his new family!
It was love at first sight when Kari saw little Savannah! She will be a well-loved and pampered kitty whose
Mom will be going to school to become a veterinarian!
After losing their 18 year-old cat to old age this past summer,
Mary and Ron decided it was time to add another cat to their home. Mary stopped down with her daughter to pick out a
female kitten, but in the end adopted little Scrooge (from Merry & Christmas's litter). He was a sweetie and we know will
have a super home filled with tons of love...plus has a very spoiled Weimaraner as a friend!
Jodi missed having a pet and since her boys have been begging for a cat, she knew it
was time to get a kitten...or two! Just after Christmas they stopped down and both boys knew which kitten they wanted.
RJ fell in love with "Sawyer", a tan and white kitten and his brother, Ryan, loved "Merry" a Tortie . We know
the kittens are going to have tons of love and playtime!
"Sugar" and "Candy" were
super cute and very sweet sisters who were not only lucky to find a great home, they got to be adopted together! They
join Lori and Craig in a home with several other loved pets, as well as four children to give them lots of attention
and playtime.
"Sweetie" joins a super family with parents Christine
and Doug, as well as their two children. She will certainly get tons of love with her family, and even has a kitty friend,
Domino, to cuddle with who was also adopted from CCHS previously!
"Polaris" (from the Snowmobile Pups) was just what Mark & Kim were
looking for after losing their 11 year-old Husky to old age. He joins four children to play with, as well as a rescued
cat friend. He'll certainly be a spoiled boy getting tons of love, exercise & spoiling!
"Rosette" came in after her previous family was told they
couldn't have a dog in their apartment. She quickly won the heart of new mom Debra and her family. They love black
dogs and with a fenced yard and several children to keep her active, we know she'll have a great new life!
"Ivy" (sibling to Berry & Holly) found a great new home! New parents Amber &
Michael have a great fenced yard for her to play in, and will give her lots of love & attention! Ivy is one lucky girl
who will get to go to work with her Mom at a doggie daycare!
"Vella" was one of those special little girls who just never stopped purring the whole time she was in Kitty City.
She was exactly the kind of kitty Andrew was looking for when he stopped at the Shelter. We know they are spending lots
of time together and that Vella, now called 'Christmas', is still purring!
"Ernie's" new family has already reported he's been a great addition
to their family. He has a rescued Pekingese brother, 'Chubby', who is a Katrina survivor. He is one very lucky boy and
will be treated like a family member, getting to join Denise and Jay in parades, celebrate birthday parties and
just being loved more than he has ever known!
Grace stopped down to meet Abby and knew it was the cat for her. Being
retired she was home all day alone and Abby was just the kitty she wanted to keep her company. Abby definitely has a
super new home filled with lots of love and attention!
"Peach's" new parents Stacy & Eli had been watching the
website for just the right dog. Peach was a beautiful black lab who was very sweet, yet young and playful. Now called
Ciara, she will certainly get lots of exercise going for jogs, and will even get to play fetch in their yard, or cuddle with
her three new kitty friends!
"Herbie" was such a cutie and was lucky to find a super new home with John & Stacey.
He joins two great children and an adopted cat from CCHS. Herbie will certainly have tons of attention in his new
home and even a doggie door leading out to their nice fenced yard!
Mark came to our Adoption Fair to check out the kitties, as he and his wife Tonya wished to get a kitten to surprise
their children. He really thought that "Feather" and "Stripe" were the cutest kittens there. However, they were
sisters, and he didn't have the heart to split them up. Lucky for us, and them, he decided to adopt them both!
Now that's a great surprise for the whole family!
Vincent was referred to our Adoption Fair by one of his co-workers, who also happens to be a CCHS volunteer. Vincent
instantly fell in love with little "Scooby", and knew that he was exactly the kitten he and his girlfriend Connie were looking
for. Scooby was more than happy to be adopted to a home filled with lots of love and fun!
Lori and Paul stopped at our Adoption Fair looking for a new member for their family. "Cap'n Jack" caught their
attention, as he seemed to have exactly the personality they were looking for. Jack got along well with their children
Austin and Taylor, and now has two other playmates as well, Buddy, a cat, and Shiver, a Beagle.
"Jessica" was an absolute sweetie who was so lucky to find Laura and
Rodger. They have been Rottie lovers for years, and after losing their last ones to cancer, they knew Jessica was just
the one for them. She joins a rescued Pointer and has a nice big fenced yard to play in now.
"Buster" (orange/white) & Squeakers (black/white) became best friends
at CCHS. We couldn't find a family to adopt them together, but with Arizona (right) adopting Squeekers (now Bandit) and her mother, Julie, adopting Buster, they'll still get
to see each other on visits. Buster now has a great little kitten to mother in his home, and Squeakers has a great new
cuddle buddy and wrestle partner in 'Gordy', a previously adopted cat from CCHS. We know everyone will be very happy!
"Coal" found a super new owner in Bobby. He has a big fenced
in yard and a great new home to call his own. We know little Coal, who will be growing fast, will be a well loved little
guy now!
