About our Quilter...
Cheryl Meyer is one of our very special cat volunteers at the Shelter. Cheryl has been an animal lover
all of her life. According to her baby book, she showed the most interest in the family cat. Her first involvement
was in volunteer work in the early 1990's when she saw an ad for a no kill shelter in Knabe, Utah. She sent small blankets
for cat cages and monetary donations, always wishing to visit. One fall season about 1 1/2 years ago she received a
mailing from CCHS about our fall raffle. Although she never wins anything, it was for a local shelter, better yet a
no-kill shelter. Cheryl believes there should be no other kind, as animals are NOT a disposable item. Since discovering
a no-kill shelter in her own backyard, Cheryl has been cleaning cages, making cage blankets, painting, etc. Now she
is thrilled to be the creator of a quilt, wall hanging, sweatshirt, and tote bag that will be raffled off to benefit CCHS.
Cheryl is an avid quilter and crafter and has been collecting fabrics depicting cats for the past 5-6 years.
This raffle quilt displays almost all of them. We are very proud of the work Cheryl has done for the Shelter, which
includes refurbishing our very old bathroom. It now looks like a designer boutique! She has donated beautiful
cat pads, which all of our kitties are enjoying. She is currently working on a mural on our cat isolation wall.
So far, the results are totally amazing!
We are so very pleased to have Cheryl as one of our volunteers at the Shelter, and we very much appreciate that
she chose to donate her work for our raffle.
